Jack Daniel's Distillery

Jack Daniel's may be the most popular bourbon whiskey, but it is not in a very populated area. The town of Lynchburg, TN where the distillery is located supports itself by the traffic Jack Daniel's brings in. Case in point, there is no gift shop at the distillery, you have to go into town to purchase memorabilia from the local shops. The drive from Nashville takes about an hour and a half, and the town itself is located in a dry county! They can however sell you commemorative bottles of whiskey on every day but Sunday.

On this tour you can take pictures everywhere outside only. This tour is more of a walking tour than the Kentucky Distilleries that I've been to, and takes you inside buildings, around the grounds, and to the natural spring where they get the water used in the fermentation process. This, of course, means limited ADA accessibility, but the Jack Daniel's website does say that they can and will accommodate as best as possible as long as you let them know in advance.

While you're in Lynchburg, head down the street to the Lynchburg City Cemetery to Jack's grave. There are 2 benches on either side of the headstone, said to be there to accommodate the weeping ladies that came to visit!

The Jack Daniel's distillery is definitely out of the way, but if you are a fan it is worth the visit.
