10 Weird (but very real) Laws Around The World

With all the things you have to remember to prep for before traveling internationally (passports, visa, etc) you could find yourself in trouble once you arrive at your destination. Below are a list of unusual laws that you probably didn't know about but should!

1. Feeding pigeons in Venice. It's been outlawed in an effort to control the pigeon population and future damage to the historical structures in the area. If you get caught you will be fined.

2. Driving while wearing flip flops in Spain, Germany and France. While we're on the topic of Spain in particular, you can't drive with shoes that are open in the front or back, heels or barefoot.

3. Chewing gum in Singapore. You'll face a fine and possible jail time.

4. Spitting in Barcelona. You'll face a fine, but really, why are you spitting anywhere?

5. Bringing alcohol into the Maldives. This includes duty-free purchases once you're passed through security.

6. Driving with your arm out the window in Australia. The only time a body part should be outside of the car is if you are signaling.

7. Throwing your Metro ticket away in Madrid or Paris. You'll need the ticket to enter and exit. If you toss it out after entering you'll have to pay a fine to leave.

8. Eating in the UAE during Ramadan. If you do you can face jail time.

9. Wearing Camouflage in Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago and St. Lucia. This law was imposed people (specifically gang members) from impersonating the military and robbing people. You will be fined if you do so.

10. Kissing or touching in public in Abu Dhabi or Dubai. You'll face another fine on this one.
