Must-Have Travel Items Part One

Writer's picture: SolocationerSolocationer

I spend a lot of time (maybe too much) researching things. Facts about a T.V. show I'm watching, unusual things to see/do when planning my next trip, and the most practical travel items that work for me. I'd like to think I'm a practical shopper and only splurge when it's absolutely necessary, so I thought I'd post a two part blog about the best travel products I've come across so far. Part one will be more electronic related, and part two will include everything else. Make sure to check back periodically because I'll be updating this as I come across more items I find helpful.

Luggage scale- Whether checking your luggage or sticking to carry-on only I think it's good to have one of these because there seem to be an increasing amount of airlines that check your carry-on weight. This scale from Etekcity is super easy to use and under $10.

Tripod- This Amazon Basics tripod folds up to 16.5 inches and fits perfectly in your carry-on luggage or backpack. It comes with its own carrying case and is very easy to use.

Wireless Remote- The Amazon Basics wireless remote for Cannon/Nikon has been tested and approved. It takes 2 seconds to set up and works well. Also under $10.

Cord Organizer- This Grid-It Organizer by Cocoon is slim but sturdy and has plenty of overlapping straps to hold all of your charger cords and small electronics. So much easier than digging out your charger from the bottom of your backpack!

Plug Adapter Set- I like the convenience of these by Ceptics. You take only the adapter you need which takes up far less space than a huge adapter. On the flip side, I also have a larger adapter that includes USB ports like this one. I use this for my electronics and the smaller one for my hair dryer or hair straightener.

Hair Dryer- This thing is seriously so small, but does the job so well!

Portable Charger- Because who wants to be stuck with a dead phone? This charger by Jackery does the trick and has an LED display to show you how much charge is left.
