My Packing List

Every travel blog has a packing list, I know. While this doesn't make me feel obligated to post one of my own, I decided I would just in case you haven't already scoured all those other blogs. I avoid checking a bag at all costs, so this list will be focusing on what I can comfortably travel with while only having a carry-on suitcase.

Electronics

*My DSLR Camera charger

*Hair straighter (many of you will go au naturel and won't need this, and I envy you)

*Adapter for your chargers Not sure why? Read this.

*Small headlamp. It doesn't take up any space and can be a lifesaver. I found one for $1 at Walmart.

Clothing

*Thick breathable socks (like these Hanes cushioned no-show socks)

*Wool socks if you're going somewhere cold (these socks by People Socks are awesome)

*2-3 pairs of jeans

*2 Tanks

*3 T-Shirts

*2 layering tops such as button up flannel-like shirts.

*1 scarf. Even in the summer you might need this if you're in the desert or visiting a religious location that requires you to cover your shoulders.

*Flip flops (for me, I use them for walking around the hotel, and if needed in the shower)

*Skechers tennis shoes (they're comfy, super lightweight and easy to smash into my suitcase)

*Light rain jacket. Most of these can be packed down into it's own pocket and take up no space.

Toiletries

*Q-Tips

*Tampons (trust me, trying to find these in a country whose native language you don't speak is a challenge)

*First aid kit including: Band-aids, Neosporin, tweezers, Tums, Allergy meds, anti-diarreal meds, etc.

*Face wash & eye makeup remover

*Cotton Balls

*Makeup (again, many of you may choose au naturel, I personally take the bare minimum)

*Travel size shampoo and conditioner (unless you know that your hotel/hostel/Airbnb will have some)

*Travel size aerosol hair spray (yes, it is TSA approved)

*Travel size deodorant

*Travel size body spray or light perfume

Miscellaneous

*Door stopper. You can get these for pretty cheap just about anywhere. If you travel alone you should always use this as an extra layer of security.

*Luggage Strap (if your suitcase zipper busts you'll thank me). This one from Lewis N. Clark is affordable and durable.

What you don't see here: leggings and jewelry. I love leggings, but they aren't very practical unless you're strictly flying in them, and jewelry is one of those things I'd rather just leave at home. If you do travel with jewelry please, please, travel with inexpensive items. It's just not worth getting mugged.

I use a backpack as my personal item when I travel which has its own packing list you can read about here.

*I do not have any affiliations with any of the companies I supply links to and do not make any profit if you decide to order from them.
